What is Coaching?  Is it Therapy?

To simplify, therapy looks backwards at what caused people to suffer a disorder or illness.  I offer adaptive coping skill training, which gives you specific skills to move forward; and coaching, which shows you how to apply that skill set to your own life.

What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness means being aware and observant of our thoughts, feelings, and environment right now, in this moment, and finding wonder, amazement, and gratitude for that moment.

Who can benefit from The Quiet Zone Coaching?  What can Coaching do for me?

Everyone can benefit from Life Coaching.  Anyone who wants to improve their life experience, learn to set and achieve goals, or learn to better handle the pressures of daily life is a candidate for coaching.  Frequently my clients are in stressful jobs or trying to create work/life balance; new, single, or working parents; living an alternative lifestyle; caregivers; divorcing; experiencing difficult relationships; or simply have a feeling of "Is this all there is?"

Why does The Quiet Zone promote meditation?

Meditation is mindfulness on steroids. It's a tool used to create new neural pathways in the brain (called neuroplasticity), and is based on proven science.  While I do encourage you to develop your own spiritual path, my mindfulness and meditation techniques aren't related to religion.

What is Neuroplasticity?

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to change neurological pathways during the course of a person's life.  I guide you through exercises in which you can "prune" non-beneficial neural pathways and create new ones.  By taking control of thoughts and attitudes, we teach our brains how to use these new neural pathways by default, rather than relying on old ones that lead to negative emotion and behavior.

Is this a new treatment philosophy?

My coaching techniques are based on well-known, proven psychology and science.  Meditation and mindfulness have been shown to create new neural pathways in the brain, and have been used to treat PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, OCD, and other disorders.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been used for decades to change our perspectives on experiences, emotions and thoughts.

Why are your coaching fees so much less than other Life Coaches?

Many of my clients are busy professionals who have little time.  By conducting sessions via Zoom, they enjoy the convenience of working with me from their offices, homes, or while out via the Zoom app.  This enables me to offer lower pricing, since a brick-and-mortar location is unnecessary.

I also feel that everyone should be able to access the information and skills needed to create a better life for themselves, not just people with tons of money.  By keeping my fees reasonable, I can help more clients achieve their goals, find contentment, and enjoy their lives to the fullest.

What if I don't feel the coaching sessions are helping me?

To be successful, your only responsibilities are to be committed to making positive changes, to sacrifice old behaviors and attitudes, and to do the work necessary.  You can stop your sessions for any reason, at any time, with a refund of unused sessions.
